About Seraphim Angels

The Seraphim are the highest order in the Choirs of Angels, being closest to God. They surround and guard the Throne of Heaven, praising God constantly with their singing. From the Biblical description of the Seraphim in the Book of Isaiah, they have six wings - one pair each covering their faces and their feet, and one pair for flying.

The great Archangel Michael is said to be chief of the Seraphim, called in Byzantine church history the Prince of the Seraphim, Protector of the Church, and leader of the Hosts of Heaven in the battle against Satan.
