The
Scorpion King (Widescreen Collector's Edition) (2002) directed by Chuck Russell, starring Dwayne Johnson (The Rock), Kelly Hu, Steven Brand, Grant Heslov, Michael Clarke Duncan Conan revisited for a new century - The Scorpion King offers lots of fantastic action, a naked girl (thoughout the entire film) very artistically and strategically filmed, adequate comic relief - we enjoyed it a lot more than we expected to. The Rock is very easy on the eyes for us gals and acted quite well, we thought. This is just a fun evening's entertainment. Go for it. |

Conan
the Barbarian - Collector's Edition (1982) directed by John Milius, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, James Earl Jones, Sandahl Bergman Indomitable warrior Conan seeks revenge for his parents' deaths from the evil leader of a snake cult (James Earl Jones) with the aid of comrades, including the beautiful amazon-like Valeria (Sandahl Bergman). What's not to love about this sword and sorcery movie - great fun all around and even some very touching moments. Made Arnie a star. |

Hawk
the Slayer (1981) directed by Terry Marcel, starring Jack Palance and John Terry The height of cheesy, B-movie entertainment, Palance stars as the evil brother Voltan (the Dark One), who has murdered both his father and his brother's gal. Good brother, Hawk, is out to rid the world of this evil presence, with help from his Giant, Elf Dwarf, et al, helpers. Lots of sword and sorcery, lousy special effects, horrific and unconsciously humorous acting - a must for fans of really bad movies - you know who you are. |

The
Sword and the Sorcerer (1982) directed by Albert Pyun, starring Lee Horsley, Kathleen Beller, Richard Lynch, George Maharis Well, this is a terrific "B" movie with Lee Horsley (loved him as Archie Goodwin in Nero Wolfe TV show) as a cocky hero who teams with a spunky princess (dark beauty Beller) to overthrow the bad guy and his demon as they seek to take over the peaceful kingdom. Lots of action, lots of wise cracks. Some like it better than Conan - great fun. |

Kull
the Conqueror (1997) directed by John Nicolella, starring Kevin Sorbo, Tia Carrere An underrated movie based on Robert E. Howard's Conan books. Sorbo (of Hercules fame) plays Kull, Conan's son. Tia Carrere is an evil goddess who lures Kull away from his girlfriend hoping for his help in overthrowing the Kingdom of Valusia. Lots of campy humor, terrific black magic, beautiful location scenery and great battles - a very entertaining sword and sorcery adventure movie. |
